St. Louis 911 operators were notified of an assault around 4:45 a.m. when a 911 evaluator heard shots fired, police said. Officers located the man in an unhoused encampment near the intersection of North 10th Street and Cass Avenue in the city's Columbus Square neighborhood. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds.
