Vernell Walker

The fatal shooting Jan. 13 of a man at a south side gas station was ruled a homicide Wednesday by the city medical examiner's office, police said. Police said the victim, Vernell Walker, 39, of St. Louis, was taken to a hospital, where he died April 21. The shooting took place at a Conoco station in the 4300 block of South Broadway in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
