Bryant Whitley

One man died and another was injured in an exchange of gunfire in the 1100 block of Congress Avenue in the Spanish Lake area of north St. Louis County, county police said. Police said Bryant Whitley, 37, of the 6100 block of Lucille Avenue in St. Louis, died. Police said Whitley discharged a firearm during a dispute and the other man returned fire. The two men knew each other, police said. Officers responding to a ShotSpotter activation went to the scene about 2:40 a.m. and found the two men. Both were taken to a hospital, where Whitley died. The other had a non-life-threatening injury, police said.
