Dolnesha A. Jones

Authorities were conducting a homicide investigation after a 37-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment. St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as Dolnesha A. Jones. She was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday inside her residence in the Thomas Terry Apartments, a public housing complex in the 600 block of South Sixth Street. Dye said the cause of death appears to be suffocation. The Illinois State Police responded to the scene on Tuesday afternoon and canvassed the area. An agency spokesperson declined to comment further.
