Two people, passengers in a car fleeing police, were killed in a crash on an interstate ramp: 21-year-old Donavan Harris, of St. Louis, and 23-year-old Anthony Doss, of Black Jack. Terrell Jackson, 22, is facing murder, assault and fleeing charges after prosecutors say he led authorities on a chase in a silver Audi. The crash closed an Interstate 170 ramp for hours on Friday and frustrated members of the city police department. Chief Robert Tracy said the officers were lucky to be alive. The incident started Friday when St. Louis police received a report of a man committing a drug offense in the city, charges say. They got a description of the man and tried to pull him over, charges say, but he fled. Another passenger was also inside the vehicle. At some point, the men got out of the car and got into a silver Audi being driven by Jackson, charges say. The Audi also fled from police at high speeds, eventually arriving on the ramp from Interstate 170 south onto Interstate 64 east. Police said the Audi made a U-turn and rammed straight into a city police cruiser carrying two officers — a 33-year-old with seven years of law enforcement experience and a 38-year-old with more than 12 years of law enforcement experience. The officers were hospitalized with serious injuries, including multiple fractures. Jackson is facing two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of assault and aggravated fleeing from police. He is being held on $1 million cash bail.
