Gabbriana "Gabby" Boyster

Gabbriana "Gabby" Boyster was shot in the head at her home near Hillsboro sometime Friday night but not discovered until Saturday afternoon, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said. Gabby's mom, Candy G'Sell, found her daughter dead. One teenage boy is accused of shooting and killing her; two other teens are suspected of leaving the scene without calling 911. G'Sell said the three teens were Gabby's friends. The shooting happened at G'Sell's home, where Gabby lived, in the 7900 block of Tower Road. The mother was away at the time, she said. "She's just a happy girl and had the rest of her life ahead of her," G'Sell, 46, said by phone Tuesday as she drove to make funeral arrangements. G'Sell said the boy who authorities think pulled the trigger was not her daughter's boyfriend, but just a friend. he boy accused of pulling the trigger is charged with involuntary manslaughter, unlawful use of a weapon resulting in death, armed criminal action and abandonment of a corpse. He remains in the custody of juvenile authorities. The other two are charged under the juvenile code with abandonment of a corpse. They have been released from custody. Gabby was the youngest of G'Sell's three children. She loved music and enjoyed spending time at home with her dog, a pit bull named Chanel. Gabby would have been a junior in the fall at Hillsboro High School. She wanted to be an ultrasound technician when she grew up. "She was just giggly and fun, she liked being with her friends and family," said Gabby's cousin, Alicia G'Sell, 26, of Hillsboro.
