Jeramie Blount

Two brothers were fatally shot around noon in an apartment building in the city's West End neighborhood, police said. They were Victor Blount, 35, and Jeramie Blount, 40. The incident took place in the 1000 block of Hamilton Avenue. Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that the brothers had a disagreement inside Victor Blount's apartment and that Jeramie Blount shot Victor Blount, who died at the scene. A woman in the apartment then fired at Jeramie Blount, who left the building and collapsed in a nearby field, police said. He died later at a hospital. Police said he lived in the 5500 block of Chippewa Street.
