A man was shot and killed in the city's College Hill neighborhood. Constance Shantate Mason, 55, called police at about 6:20 p.m. and told dispatchers she had just killed a man, court documents say. Officers responded to the home, in 1400 block of East Obear Avenue, and found a 54-year-old man laying on the floor in the home's kitchen, police said. He'd been shot. He was not conscious and wasn't breathing. He was pronounced dead at the home. Mason was also inside the house, police said. She was taken into custody and interviewed by detectives. On Sunday, she was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Mason and the man, whose name has not been released, had been in a relationship for three years and lived together, court records say.
