Sam Linehan

Sam Linehan, 28, was the general manager of Sado, the award-winning sushi restaurant on the Hill. Sado owner Nicholas Bognar said Linehan’s leadership of the team had helped the restaurant receive countless awards and recognition. “Not only a leader in the workplace, Sam was a rock in the life of myself and almost every co-worker they had,” Bognar said. “I cannot put into words the void this will leave in our hearts and the hearts of many in the St. Louis hospitality industry.” "This was an amazing human being and they deserve to be honored for everything they did in life," he added. Linehan also worked at Yellowbelly, the fusion restaurant on Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis' Central West End. Linehan was a member of the team that helped open the restaurant, and worked there about five years before moving to Sado, said Tim Wiggins, co-owner of Yellowbelly. He said he and his team are heartbroken over the death of Linehan, who went by they/them. “They were just a really lovely, vibrant person,” Wiggins said. “They were just someone who was very mindful of other people and their feelings. Just someone who is not selfish.” Linehan was shot in a robbery Tuesday morning at a Starbucks in the Tower Grove East neighborhood. Linehan was also a coach for the Metro Edge Figure Skating Club. Their coaching biography says Linehan skated with synchro teams for years and was a member of the junior Team USA that won a silver medal at the 2014 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. St. Louis police arrested the suspected shooter overnight. Keith Lamon Brown, 58, was charged with murder Wednesday.
