Shenandoah Burton

Officers from the Belleville and Swansea police departments responded to the 1700 block of Jamestown Road at around 11:19 p.m. to shots fired. Police found one woman dead in a roadway and two women in a vehicle in a nearby parking lot. One of the women in the vehicle had a gunshot wound, authorities said. The county coroner later identifed the deceased victim as Shenandoah Burton, 18, of Swansea. A male friend was identified as a suspect, and in Perry County, Missouri, the sheriff's department tried to stop the suspect's car while it was driving south on Interstate 55, according to a release. The suspect then committed suicide, deputies said. No further details were provided, including names and ages of the victims or the suspect.
