Frankly Sausages

Food trucks are no longer a curiosity or even a trend but a commonplace of the St. Louis dining scene. They can still excite, though. Consider Frankly Sausages, which rolled onto the streets in late 2015 with an ostensibly simple menu of sausages and fries. But Bill Cawthon, who runs the truck with his wife, Jamie, has a background in upscale restaurants. He cooks each sausage — an all-beef frank, a beer brat and a wild-boar sausage among them — sous-vide and finishes them to order on the grill for an ideal snappy-juicy texture. The fries, brined and then fried twice, are some of the best in town.
