Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co.

When Kevin Nashan announced last year that he was expanding Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co. to Tulsa, Okla., he told the Post-Dispatch: “We always wanted to give (the Peacemaker concept) another chance. We didn’t know where that was going to be.” If I was surprised by the location of this next chance, I was more surprised, on reflection, that there weren’t already several Peacemaker satellites orbiting the Benton Park original. The concept is a slam-dunk: Acadian-inspired seafood from the Northeast and New Orleans (with an essential side trip for Maryland blue crabs, boiled or steamed) in a casual setting overseen by the James Beard Award-winning Nashan. As vital to Peacemaker as Nashan’s credentials is his respect for his seafood purveyors, immortalized in large photographs throughout the dining room.

Hours: Dinner daily, lunch Monday-Friday (opens at 1:30 p.m. Sunday)
