A shooting at a nightclub left one man dead and another wounded. A security guard at the club saw the holdup and opened fire; the man who died was one of the robbers, police said. City homicide detectives are investigating. The double shooting was about 1 a.m. at Diana’s Royal Palace, 4266 Natural Bridge Avenue. The business is in the city’s Greater Ville neighborhood. William Ownes Jr. died after being shot in the head; another man was hit in the leg and is expected to survive. St. Louis police said the shooting happened on the parking lot.
