Anwara Begum

Police found a man and woman dead Saturday afternoon in a Boulevard Heights home after responding to a witness tip. After not hearing from the victim or suspect, the witness knocked on the door of a residence at the 4800 block of Germania Avenue before seeing the pair unresponsive on the floor through a window. Initial investigation indicates Mohammad Islam, 68, bludgeoned Anwara Begum, also 68, to death with a hammer before committing suicide, according to police. Both were declared dead at the scene.
