Jerimiah Grayer

The shooting victim who died Wednesday in the Dutchtown neighborhood has been identified as Jerimiah Grayer. Police said Grayer, 18, and three juveniles tried to rob a man just after 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of Osage Street. The would-be victim, a 32-year-old man, pulled a gun and exchanged fire with the robbers, killing Grayer. The 32-year-old man was injured too. The three juveniles who attempted to rob the would-be victim were charged in Grayer's death. They are two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old, and they were charged with second-degree murder, attempted robbery and assault in Grayer's death. They have not been identified because their case is in juvenile court. Grayer lived in the 3500 block of Itaska Street.
