Police say the fatal shooting of a man on Monday in Ferguson “does not appear to be a random act”. Around 3 p.m., police say officers drove to a shooting in the 10600 block of New Halls Ferry Road. There officers discovered the man shot before helping take him to a nearby hospital, where he died. Police later identified the victim as Terrance Newman, 23, of the 10000 block of Dunkeld Circle in St. Louis County. Ferguson police Capt. Tim Harris released the following statement: “Our hearts go out to the victim's family during this difficult time. We ask anyone with information that might assist in this case to please come forward," stated Harris. "We are committed to working with the community it is our desire to bring the perpetrator(s) to justice and bring some degree of closure to this family. This incident does not appear to be a random act. Our residents are always reminded to remain watchful and report any suspicious activity immediately.”
