Wesley Ingrim

Police on Tuesday identified a man shot and killed this past weekend after struggling with a Lake Saint Louis police officer over guns, authorities said. Wesley Ingrim, 28, of Lake Saint Louis, was killed by police on Sunday night. Officers were called around 9 p.m. to Boulevard Park in Lake Saint Louis to investigate a report of a shooting. They found multiple shell casings at the scene. They then went to a home in the 2400 block of Fox Bridge Court to continue the investigation. Lake Saint Louis police Chief Chris DiGiuseppi said Ingrim lived there. Ingrim walked out of the house with two handguns, police said. Officers tried to disarm him, but he fought with police, authorities said. One officer fired at Ingrim, wounding and later killing him. Ingrim fired two shots during the struggle, police said. One officer was injured, treated and released from the hospital. The shooting in Lake Saint Louis happened just hours after another man was shot and killed after exchanging gunfire with police in O'Fallon, Missouri. In that case, authorities said police chased the man after he fired shots at a clocktower near City Hall.
