A woman on Wednesday evening was shot dead on the border of the O'Fallon and Penrose neighborhoods in north St. Louis. Officers were called to the 4600 block of Pope Avenue about 8 p.m., police said. They found a woman inside a home. She had been shot twice and had died, police said. Additional information was not immediately available.
