Detectives have arrested two people in the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy across the street from the campus of St. Louis University, police said. The victim, 16-year-old Darrell Price, was shot in the 3800 block of Laclede Avenue about 7 p.m. Monday. Darrell lived in north St. Louis. He died at the scene. A 20-year-old man showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound. He was one of two people taken into custody. The other was a man, 18. Police on Tuesday said the boy and two suspects knew each other and had arranged to meet. Marijuana was involved, police said, and the shooting may have been part of a robbery or robbery attempt. Police said an argument erupted in the parking lot of a building that housed two fast-food restaurants, a Papa Johns pizza place and Jimmy Johns sandwich shop, across the street from a university athletic field. The argument escalated into a shooting, said Maj. Janice Bockstruck. No university students were involved, police said, and the shooting was not a threat to campus. The shooting was at the main campus' southwestern edge, near the corner of South Vandeventer and Laclede avenues.
