Davanta McCray

A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of his son in East St. Louis, Illinois State Police said. Anthony L. Powe, of Summerfield in St. Clair County, faces felony charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder in the death of Davanta McCray, 29, of Belleville. The incident took place about 5 a.m. in the 2200 block of Market Avenue, police said. The victim was found in his vehicle. A second victim was transported to an undisclosed hospital with a gunshot wound, state police said in a release at the time. That person’s condition has not been updated.
