Jaquan Wiley

A 22-year-old was killed Aug. 25 after trying to rob a 20-year-old of a gun, police said. Police were called just before 10 p.m. to the 700 block of Carroll Street in the city’s Soulard neighborhood, where they found two men who had been shot. An investigation revealed the 20-year-old had agreed to meet up with Jaquan Wiley, 22, to sell him a gun. Instead, the Wiley pulled a weapon on the younger man. The two exchanged gunfire, and Wiley was killed, police said. The 20-year-old was taken to a hospital for gunshot injuries.
