Police arrested a 15-year-old in the death of an elderly Jennings man who was stabbed repeatedly and left on an East St. Louis road. Officers were called at about 10 p.m. to 76th and State streets, according to Illinois State Police. They found a body in the road, police said. St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as John Wesley Allen Sr., 78. Allen died of multiple stab wounds, Dye said. Allen lived at a senior care facility in the 2300 block of Grand River Road in Jennings. His family could not be reached. The 15-year-old suspect was identified quickly by police and arrested later at a home, the Illinois State Police said. Police acknowledged that Ring doorbell video posted to social media captured the suspect, in a clown outfit, in the hour before the shooting.
