Sauce on the Side

Sauce on the Side opened its third storefront last fall, and the new location in the Grove doesn’t waver from the formula established at the original downtown restaurant and its Clayton spinoff: plump calzones with smart combinations of fillings, from traditional pizza-esque creations to a riff on a burrito (the Pancho Villa: chorizo, yellow bell pepper, jalapeño, smoked cheddar and mozzarella with smoked-chile oil and queso). Visiting the Grove location, I was impressed at how seamlessly the concept adapts to a new space. I suspect even more will follow.
