Sheesh Restaurant

Sheesh Restaurant opened at the very end of 2015, but it has already undergone a dramatic renovation, adding more dining tables and, for special events, twin thrones on a dais. (You kind of have to see it to believe it.) The menu has also expanded somewhat from my initial review visits — there is a seafood section now — but the heart of Sheesh remains its Turkish lamb kebabs: the classic sheesh kebab, the spicy adana kebab, the elegant pistachio kebab. When I returned recently, I didn’t receive the complimentary bowl of ezogelin soup offered two years ago. You must order it now, apparently. And you must order it.

Hours: Lunch and dinner daily

Last year's ranking: Rest of the Best

Opened: 2015

Must order: Adana kebab ($13.99)
