Yiro/Gyro

Yiro/Gyro opened only two years ago, but the restaurant now boasts four locations. The reason for its rapid expansion is clear. Like several other STL 100 honorees — Lona’s Lil Eats, Porano Pasta, Sauce on the Side — Yiro/Gyro has found the happy medium between being a locally owned restaurant serving distinctive, quality fare and offering the fast-casual, build-your-own-bowl format that diners increasingly prefer. Brothers Mirza and Merim Imamovic also run the Gyro Company in St. Louis and South County, and Yiro/Gyro’s traditional beef-lamb gyro meat is excellent, especially when combined with the pungent garlic sauce and Bosnian lepinja bread on the doner kebab.
